In many cases, it is convenient to install a garden shed in the garden. Depending on your needs, you can use it to store garden tools, but also as a party room or sauna house. A distinction is made between garden houses made of wood, plastic and metal:

Wooden garden sheds are the most common, as they come in many different designs. Depending on the type of wood, material thickness and care, their service life varies. But as a rule, they are characterized by durability. Log cabins are very popular wooden garden houses because they are easy to assemble.

Plastic garden houses are good for small gardens, as they usually do not need a foundation. They are weather and corrosion resistant and have a long lifespan.

Metal garden sheds are also very durable. Since they are usually made of hot-dip galvanized sheet steel or aluminum with a baked-on powder coating, they do not rust and withstand weathering very well. The material lends itself well to cool and sleek designs.

Open garden houses bring a very special ambience to your garden and provide a sheltered place to relax in summer as well as in spring or autumn.

If you want to put up a cottage in your garden, you should check with the relevant building authority beforehand, because sometimes a building permit is required for this. This depends, among other things, on the use of the garden house, its size and the distance to the property line. Each federal state has its own regulations for this.
